With me, it never worked out to get a really solid male friend. The ones that I had were just friends, nothing close. Until a few years ago, when I met this guy who was hitting on me. After a complete failure as friends with benefits we are best friends now and I can't think of a closer person to me, except for my husband. My hubby jokes that I'm like a mom to the guy, because I get overly caring sometimes and want him to be all set in life. Sexual tension used to be an issue the first year we knew each other, but now it's long gone and the guy respects my husband a lot. I liked Brandy’s comment. I think this says it perfectly. I had a friend in university who was a dude and we often talked about it. And then, you know, slept together and later went back to just being friends.
